Nilsu Demirel, AMER ’25, Semi-Finalist at Student Academy Awards

Nilsu Demirel’s 2025 senior project for AMER, “The Fig Tree,” is a multi-part artistic project consisting of four interconnected works that collectively explore themes of identity, femininity, indecision, and imagined futures through the writings of Sylvia Plath. The project brings together film, graphic design, and installation, translating literary metaphors into material, visual, and sensory forms.
