Professor Hopkins Awarded Kluge Fellowship

Assistant Professor Britain Hopkins was awarded a Kluge Fellowship at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., where she spent the summer carrying out work on her book project, a political history of U.S. student debt in the mid-twentieth century.

The Library of Congress is the primary research arm of the U.S. Congress and is home to a vast collection of books and archival holdings from around the world. Professor Hopkins is working with several collections, including the papers of federal employees in the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and members of the country’s private sector and banking community who helped design the federal student loan program.
