As part of Bilkent’s ongoing “Year of Sustainability,” the Departments of American Culture and Literature and English Language and Literature announce an upcoming lecture series: “Literature and Sustainability.”
On Thursday, the series continues on April 21 with Dr. Vesna Kuiken’s (University at Albany, State University of New York) talk entitled “Life on the Rocks: Celia Thaxter on Ecological Memory.”
The final talk in the series will take place on Tuesday, May 10, when Dr. Priscilla Ybarra’s (University of North Texas) presents “Sustainability or Reciprocity?: Why Stories Matter.”
All talks will begin at 7:00 pm (Ankara time) and will be held via Zoom. Additional details, including abstracts and Zoom information, will be distributed closer to the date of each talk.
On Monday, April 4, we welcomed Dr. John Parham (University of Worcester) to present “News from Somewhere: How Nineteenth-Century Writers Imagined Sustainability.”
